Brake caliper

BACKGROUND

Due to severely fouled brake caliper the vehicle failed at the DMV. A new caliper was quite expensive and hence a cleaning was an interesting and much cheaper alternative.

RESULTS

All rust and other deposit was efficiently removed and a clean metallic surface was obtained. Cost for the new gaskets were ~10 EUR compared to a new brake caliper, ~250 EUR.

IMPORTANT!

Parts made from CS cleaned in acidic media should immediately be covered with a thin layer of oil to reduce the risk of corrosion.
